A notification seeking nominations for May 30 assembly elections in Goa was issued on Monday.
Election Commissioner T S Krishnamurthy, on a three-day visit to the state along with his deputy A N Jha, reviewed poll-related arrangements at a meeting at Raj Bhawan on Sunday, an official release said.
Officials of the state election office, senior police officers and district collectors attended the meeting, the release added.
The nominations will be accepted till May 13.
Scrutiny of nomination papers will take place on May 14 and the last day for withdrawals will be May 16.
Counting of votes, to be polled on May 30, would be taken up on June 1 and the entire election exercise would be completed by June 3.
Krishnamurthy has said the commission would issue necessary guidelines regarding proof of identity for voters who do not have a photo ID.
The 40-member Goa assembly was dissolved on February 27, nearly two and half years ahead of the scheduled 2004 election.
