One killed, two injured in Ahmedabad

One person was killed and two injured when police opened fire in Astodia area of Ahmedabad to disperse a mob on Tuesday.

Another man was injured in a stabbing incident in Memnagar area, the police said.

Meanwhile, tension mounted in curfew-bound areas of Ahmedabad after news of violence in Astodia spread.

Army and paramilitary forces continued patrolling the curfew-bound areas of Kalupur, Dariapur, Karanj, Shahpur, Haveli and Vejalpur.
