Lakshya successfully test-flown

The indigenously developed unmanned aerial vehicle Lakshya was successfully test-flown with a newly developed engine from the Interim Test Range at Chandipur-on-Sea, official sources said in Balasore, Orissa, on Monday.

The pilotless plane was test-flown at 1100 IST, the sources said.

Though Lakshya was inducted into the country's defence forces in 2000, the latest trial was with a new engine.

Indian Air Force officers witnessed the user trial, the sources added.
