Nine Pakistani soldiers killed in retaliatory action

Nine Pakistani soldiers were killed and 11 Indian jawans injured in exchange of fire between the two sides along the Line of Control and International Border in Jammu and Kashmir since Saturday, sources said on Sunday.

The Pakistani troops resorted to heavy firing and mortar shelling, targeting Indian positions in several areas in Jammu-Poonch sector, the sources said.

They fired mortars on several locations in Noushera, Krishnaghati, Chiniyas, Pallanwalla, Balakote, Jallas, Sunderbani, Laam and Kerni areas, injuring six army jawans and five Border Security Force personnel, the sources said.

The Pakistani soldiers were killed in retaliatory action in Noushera, Pallanwala and Sunderbani, they added.
