Pakistan indulging in maritime movement: Indian Navy

There has been some maritime movement by Pakistan in the western region, but the Indian Navy is prepared for any eventuality, the chief of the Western Naval Command, Vice Admiral Vinod Pasricha, said on Friday.

"There has definitely been some movement of submarines and ships... but we are prepared," he said.

He, however, said that the movement was confined to the restricted nautical zones and "there are no reports of any naval war games".

The vice admiral said that the navy's deployment along the Gujarat coast and parts of Maharashtra has been "enhanced" in the aftermath of the communal violence in Gujarat.
