The Vishwa Hindu Parishad on Sunday demanded division of Jammu and Kashmir into four parts, including a separate enclave with Union territory status for resettling migrant Kashmiri Pandits.
Alleging neglect, discrimination, injustice and deep rooted bias against Jammu and Ladakh by successive regimes in Srinagar, VHP's Kendriya Margdarshak Mandal (central advisory board) meeting demanded carving out of a separate state comprising Jammu, Kathua, Udhampur, Doda, Poonch and Rajouri.
This was stated in a resolution on the Jammu and Kashmir issue adopted at the two-day meeting, which concluded on Sunday.
The Mandal also demanded a Union territory status for Ladakh, creation of a five-km wide security zone along the Indo-Pakistan border and handing it over to the army. It also demanded immediate abrogation of Article 370 of the Constitution, which provides special status to the state.
