P M Nair, secretary in the ministry of non-conventional energy sources, will take over Dutta's job.
Dutta is a 1967 batch IAS officer from the West Bengal cadre. Nair also belongs to the 1967 batch.
P Shankar, a 1966 batch officer of the Tamil Nadu cadre, has been appointed secretary in the Planning Commission. He will succeed S S Boparai, who retires on June 30.
The reshuffle involving several senior IAS officers has been approved by the Appointments Committee of the Union Cabinet, according to an official release.
Enforcement Directorate chief S S Dawara, who belongs to the 1967 batch, will take over as secretary in the ministry of non- conventional energy sources, in place of Nair.
Another 1967 batch officer, S Prabhakaran, who is a special secretary in the power ministry, has been appointed as financial adviser, ex-officio secretary and concurrently member of the Atomic Energy Commission and Space Commission.
N S Sisodia, additional secretary in the Cabinet Secretariat, will take his place.
M Shankar, secretary in the department of official languages, has been transferred to the urban development department where he will succeed K Kosalram, who superannuates in the end of the month.
S K Tuteja, development commissioner for small scale industries, will take the place of M Shankar.
TRIFED Managing Director Pratibha Karan will be the secretary in the ministry of food processing industries, in place of D P Tripathi who is retiring on June 30.
K K Jaswal, additional secretary and financial adviser in the department of industrial policy and promotion, will replace B K Mishra as secretary in the ministry of statistics and programme implementation.
Mishra is to take over as chairman of the Staff Selection Commission in the rank and pay of a secretary up to the date of his retirement, the release said.
He would be replacing K M Lal, who is due to complete his tenure on June 21, 2002.
