Five held for attack on Medha Patkar

Gujarat Bharatiya Janata Party youth president Amit Thaker and two party corporators along with two Congress leaders were on Tuesday arrested in connection with the attack on Narmada Bachao Andolan leader Medha Patkar at the Sabarmati Ashram in Ahmedabad on April 17.

Police said they were released on bail after being produced before a local court.

Besides Thaker, others arrested were BJP corporators Amit Shah and Nitin Patel and Congress leaders Rohit Patel, a former corporator, and Hemant Chavan.
