"I would like to stay at home, see the world," Abdullah told reporters at a function held to felicitate police officers at the Raj Bhavan in Srinagar.
"I am tired of politics. I think it is time for me to take rest," Abdullah replied when asked what he planned to do after the assembly polls.
Abdullah, however, refused to give a definite answer whether he would continue as chief minister if asked by the party.
"It will be decided by the party. Omar (Abdullah) is becoming the party president on June 23 and you can ask this question again on the 25th of this month," Abdullah said.
The chief minister also expressed disappointment at not being considered for the post of Vice-President.
Significantly, he said the National Conference would fight the BJP in the ensuing assembly polls despite supporting the BJP-led NDA at the Centre.
Omar Abdullah, at a recent press conference, had said his party would review its participation in the NDA government after June 23.
