"My understanding is the consulate in Karachi suffered some damage. Everything else is open as usual," said a US embassy spokesman in Islamabad. "The consulate in Karachi has not been opened yet."
At least 20 agents from the Federal Bureau of Investigation joined Pakistani police at the weekend to investigate the attack.
A previously unknown group calling itself Al-Qanoon claimed responsibility for the attack.
It said the bomb was the start of a jihad against America and Pakistani rulers.
Pakistani investigators said they were taking the claim seriously, but were also looking into other leads.
