A vacation bench of the Patna high court on Tuesday granted bail to Congress leader and MP from Begusarai, Rajo Singh, in connection with the killing of nine members of the ruling Rashtriya Janata Dal in Sheikhpura district last year.
Justice T P Singh passed the order after hearing a bail petition filed on behalf of Rajo Singh.
Nine RJD members, including the party's Sheikhpura district chief, were killed on December 26 last year allegedly by Rajo Singh's men.
He surrendered before the Sheikhpura police on May 11 after evading arrest for over four-and-a-half months.
Rajo Singh's son Sanjay Singh, a former minister in the Rabri Devi government, and several others are in judicial custody in connection with the case.
