Caretaker Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar is all set to form a Bharatiya Janata Party-led coalition government in Goa.
The BJP has secured the support of four legislators of the United Goans Democratic Party-Maharashtrawadi Gomantak Party combine and one independent MLA.
Sudin Dhawalikar and Pandurang Madkaikar of the MGP and Mickky Pacheco and Babush Monseratte of the UGDP will participate in the government.
Independent MLA Philip Neri Rodrigues, who was a minister in the erstwhile BJP government, will also be part of the Cabinet.
Parrikar is expected to be sworn-in on Monday.
While confirming the news, BJP leader and member of Parliament Shripad Naik said the party was also trying to pull in Dr Wilfred D'Souza, the sole legislator of the Nationalist Congress Party. He is believed to have been offered the speaker's post.
After holding talks with the two regional outfits, Parrikar on Sunday afternoon met Governor Mohammed Fazal and formally staked claim.
The coalition government will thus have 22 legislators in the 40-member House.
A coalition government in Goa became inevitable after the election on May 30 threw up a hung assembly.
The BJP, with 17 legislators, is the single-largest party. The Congress, on the other hand, has only 16.
