French Foreign Minister Dominique de Villepin will visit India on August 2 to discuss the issue of international terrorism with focus on Jammu and Kashmir.
De Villepin will go to Pakistan on August 3.
The minister "will take up with his Indian and Pakistani counterparts the regional issues that are of concern to the international community. In this context, the question of international terrorism and relations between India and Pakistan, particularly the issue of Kashmir, will be naturally raised," a French embassy release in New Delhi said.
De Villepin will meet Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, External Affairs Minister Yashwant Sinha, Defence Minister George Fernandes and National Security Adviser Brajesh Mishra.
"Our strategic partnership with India is based on many meetings and numerous forums for dialogue. The visit of the foreign minister thus naturally forms part of special relations built up between France and India," it said.
In Pakistan, de Villepin is scheduled to meet President Pervez Musharraf, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Inamul Haque and Interior Minister Moinuddin Haider.
