ULFA, UNLF launch 'joint operations'

The United Liberation Front of Asom and the United National Liberation Front have decided to launch joint operations in Assam and Manipur.

The UNLF in a statement issued on Monday said the two insurgent outfits have also reached an agreement to step up their activities in the two states.

The statement said UNLF's armed wing, Manipur People's Army, in an understanding with the ULFA had attacked a security convoy at Jirighat area in Assam's Cachar district on July 16.
