accreditation turned down

Shahid K Abbas in New Delhi

Time reporter Alex Perry, whose recent article on Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee had drawn strong protests from the government, has been denied accreditation by the Press Information Bureau's accreditation committee.

Alex PerrySources in the committee told rediff.com that Alex Perry's application came up for consideration at a meeting of the panel on Friday.

During the meeting, one of the members, Tarun Vijay, opposed the application pointing out that the magazine had been misrepresenting the Indian map, they said.
