Fire breaks out in Delhi's Alpana theatre screening Devdas

Rekindling memories of the Uphaar theatre tragedy, a fire broke out in the Alpana cinema hall of north Delhi on Friday evening, where the much-talked about Hindi film Devdas was being screened on its opening day.

The entire theatre was evacuated. There were no immediate reports of any casualty.

Fire brigade sources said they received a call at around 1705 hrs about a fire in the sub-station of the cinema hall and sent a fire tender to the spot.

They were still awaiting a detailed report about the incident.
