Alexander meets Vajpayee

After quitting as Maharashtra governor, P C Alexander on Tuesday met Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee in New Delhi.

Alexander, who resigned from the post in the backdrop of having been refused a National Democratic Alliance nomination for presidentship, had a 45-minute meeting with the prime minister.

He, however, refused to brief the waiting newsmen outside Vajpayee's 7 Race Course Road residence.

Alexander had met Deputy Prime Minister Lal Kishenchand Advani earlier in the day.
