Prakash Sharma, a full-time Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh pracharak from Kanpur, has been appointed the new national convenor of the Bajrang Dal.
Sharma replaces Surendra Jain, who has been made secretary of the Vishwa Hindu Parishad at its ongoing national executive in Ranchi, VHP sources said on Monday.
In other organisational changes, Sadananda Kakade has been elevated as VHP vice-president and Champat Rai made its joint general secretary.
Last month, Bajrang Dal founder president and Faizabad Member of Parliament Vinay Katiyar was appointed president of the Uttar Pradesh unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party.
