A Godhra court has acquitted for lack of evidence nine people accused of burning down shops owned by the minority community in Lunawada town of Panchmahal district in the wake of the attack on the Sabarmati Express in February.

The nine were -- Mansukh Mangal, Kiran Harshadray Suthar, Mafat Lalabhai Khant, Jayesh Mansukh Maliwad, Kishan Dahyabhai Dantani, Hasmukh Kanubjhia Dabgar, Arvind Bvadilal Dabgar, Natwar Mangal Dantani and Jagdish Harishankar Panchal, all from Lunawada, their advocate and Bharatiya Janata Party member of Parliament Bhupendrasinh Solanki said on Saturday.
