Pakistani troops resort to shelling in Rajouri

Pakistani troops on Thursday shelled border areas of Rajouri district, while intermittent exchange of fire was reported from sub-sectors along the international border, official sources said in Jammu.

Several mortar shells fired by Pakistani troops across the Line of Control fell in Kaller, Laam and Noushera area of Rajouri district in Jammu division, injuring livestock, the sources said.

They added, "Our troops also retaliated effectively."

Sub-sectors of Hiranagar, Samba, R S Pura and Kanachak along the border witnessed exchange of fire between the two sides since Wednesday evening without any casualty or damage on the Indian side, the sources said.
