Home Minister Lal Kishenchand Advani on Friday virtually ruled out any immediate de-escalation on the Indo-Pak border
"These are matters on which formal decision is taken by government. At the moment the present situation will continue," Advani said when asked whether de-escalation on border would take couple of months at press conference in New Delhi.
The questioner recalled the reply of the home minister to an earlier query in which he had said that government would require a couple of months to judge whether there is any let up in cross border terrorism or infiltration.
Advani replied in negative when asked whether the visit of US Ambassador Robert Blackwill to Jammu and Kashmir was indicative of India accepting US mediation to solve the Kashmir problem.
The home minister said that in the last three to four years several ambassadors have been visiting the state, and some had even visited it in a group.
