Samata Party MLA attacked in Bihar

Armed miscreants attacked the vehicle of Samata Party MLA Lessi Singh in Purnea on Sunday, though she escaped unhurt, police said.

Singh, MLA representing the Dhamdaha assembly constituency in Bihar, was fired upon by motorcycle-borne assailants while returning in a jeep to her constituency from Katihar, Purnea Superintendent of Police K C Surendrababu said.

Even though the MLA escaped unhurt, her vehicle was damaged in the attack, he said.

Meanwhile, Singh has lodged an FIR, and a combing operation was launched to nab the assailants, he added.
