The Maharashtra State Minority Commission on Thursday appealed to all communities to maintain peace and communal harmony, adding that the gruesome attack on the Sabarmati Express at Godhra appeared to be the handiwork of terrorist organisations.
A statement issued by the commission said, "We condemns the heinous act in strongest terms and hope that the guilty will be identified and punished severely."
The statement added that the incident appeared to have the intention of bring about communal disturbances in the country.
