Friday's HSC and SSC exams postponed

The state education board has postponed the exams of secondary and higher secondary school certificate students, scheduled for Friday, in view of the Maharashtra bandh being called by the Vishwa Hindu Parishad to protest against the attack on the passengers of the Sabarmati Express in Godhra in Gujarat.

State government sources said that the exam for the subject scheduled for Friday would be held on March 16 for HSC and March 18 for SSC students. The rest of the examination will be held as per schedule, official sources said.

Earlier in the day, a delegation of VHP and BJP leaders called on officials of the state board and urged them to postpone Friday's examinations.
