While 22 members from Maharashtra, Orissa, Tamil Nadu and West Bengal would be retiring on April two, 35 others from Andhra Pradesh, Assam, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Gujarat, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Jharkhand, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan will demit office on April nine.
One each from Meghalaya and Arunachal Pradesh will retire on April 12 and May 26.
According to the election schedule announced by the commission, notifications will be issued on March seven and the last date for making nominations will be March 14.
Scrutiny will be held on March 15 while the last date for withdrawal of nominations will be March 18.
Counting of votes will be held on March 27, the commission said.
Prominent among those who will be retiring include senior Congress leaders S B Chavan and N K P Salve, BJP leaders Sikandar Bakht and Shatrughan Sinha, TDP's Jaya Prada, Janata Dal leader Ramakrishna Hegde and Shiv Sena's Adhik Narayan Shirodkar.
