The meeting of the National Democratic Alliance scheduled for Monday has been postponed to February 26 to enable its constituents to have a clearer picture of the outcome of the assembly elections.
The meeting was to have discussed the strategy to be adopted for the Budget Session of Parliament in the light of opposition's moves to raise the issue of re-induction of George Fernandes into the Cabinet.
The results of the assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Uttaranchal and Manipur are expected to be out by Sunday evening.
"With the election results coming out only tomorrow, it was felt that the meeting be postponed to Tuesday," sources said.
President K R Narayanan is due to address a joint session of Parliament on Monday.
