Delhi police file charge sheet in cocaine case

The Delhi police on Friday chargesheeted Delhi-based hotelier Neeraj Wadhera, ethnic Afghan drug peddler Naquibullah alias Ali and five others accusing them of consuming, financing, harbouring and trafficking cocaine in high society.

The chargesheet, filed in the designated court of R Kiran Nath, has also accused fashion designer Mohit Sharma alias Sona, two foreign nationals - Chinadu Olisabnezi of Nigeria and Jonathan Williams of Malawi - and Haryana-based businessmen Robert Suri and Rajesh Bhalla of indulging in drug trafficking.

All the seven accused have been booked under various sections of the Narcotics Drug and Psychotropic Substance Act (NDPS) for possessing, financing, harbouring and trafficking in cocaine. Twenty-three witnesses have been named in the case.

Wadhera, who was arrested last August while soliciting cocaine from Ali near Khan Market and has been accused of possessing the drug for personal consumption and conspiracy, is presently on bail.

Ali has been chargesheeted under sections 27A and 21 for financing and possessing cocaine, while Sharma, who was granted bail earlier this week has been accused of harbouring the Afghan drug peddler.

Suri and Bhalla have been declared as proclaimed offenders and have been chargesheeted for financing Ali.

Chinadu and Jonathan, who were arrested following Ali's interrogation, have been booked for possessing, financing and abetting drug trafficking.
