Nagappa's supporters destroy 65 houses in Hanur

A day after last rites were performed on the body of Janata Dal-United leader H Nagappa in Kamagere, his supporters destroyed sixty-five houses in Hoogyam village of Hanur assembly constituency.

The houses, which were built for the poor by the government under the Ambedkar scheme, were ready for occupation.

After this attack, fighting erupted between two groups. The police quickly interfered and brought the situation under control.

Some of the injured were admitted to the government hospital in Hanur.
