PW owns up for August 11 landmine
blast in Orissa

Giridhar Gopal in Bhubaneswar

The People's War on Friday claimed responsibility for the landmine blast that killed six Central Reserve Police Force jawans and a driver of the Orissa police near Gothalpadar village in Raigada district on
August 11.

Santosh alias Krishna, a leader of the outlawed outfit, said this in a press release. He said the PW was also responsible for killing a police informer on August 10.

Santosh is the commander of the Nagavali Dalam, which is operating in Andhra Pradesh's Srikakulam district and Orissa's Gajapati and Raigada districts.

The CRPF "behaves ruthlessly with the tribals and creates barriers in their genuine struggle against exploitations. That is why they faced our wrath", he said.

"Santosh's admission will help us in the investigation," a senior police official told rediff.com
