'Area commander' of People's War arrested

The 'area commander' of the banned People's War, Ajay Kanu, who was carrying a reward of Rs 250,000 on his head, was arrested along with one of his associate, Ganesh Kumar, from the busy Bailey Road in Patna on Wednesday night.

The Senior Superintendent of Police, Patna, Sunil Kumar said on Thursday that Kanu, who had unleashed a reign of terror in Jehanabad, Arwal, Gaya and Patna districts, was involved in a series of killings of policemen.

Some documents, a stolen car and around Rs 18,000 were recovered from them.
