Patna court extends stay on telecast of Ramkhilavan

Anand Mohan Sahay in Patna

A Patna court on Wednesday extended the interim stay against the telecast of the controversial television serial Ramkhilavan CM 'n' Family up to August 31.

Radha Raman Pradhan, a local lawyer, has filed a case against telecast of the serial arguing it portrayed Bihar, its chief minister and her family in poor light.

Members of Bihar's ruling Rashtriya Janata Dal point out that the serial's lead character bears a close resemblance to their party chief Laloo Prasad Yadav and spoke Hindi with a distinctive Bihari accent.
