Former Bihar chief minister and ruling Rashtriya Janata Dal chief Laloo Prasad Yadav on Friday said a new TV serial 'Ramkhilavan CM and Family' on SAB TV channel, which spoofs his political and family life, is "sponsored" by the Bhartiya Janata Party to defame him.
"The BJP is now using TV serials against me after having failed to dislodge me in the political field," Laloo told rediff.com in Patna. "This serial is nothing but an attempt at character assassination...what is worse is that it shows my family too in a poor light," he added.
Laloo was talking to newspersons at the official residence of his wife and Chief Minister Rabri Devi. "For far too long I have tolerated such mischief. But, enough is enough," he said.
"I have made it my mission in political life to not allow the BJP to succeed in its attempt to disrupt communal harmony in Bihar and this is how they have thought of countering me," he said.
Asked if he would file for defamation against the TV channel, Laloo said he is consulting his lawyers.
