UK asks nationals not to travel to Pak

Britain on Tuesday advised its nationals against all but essential travel to Pakistan because of the terrorist threat to Western interests.

''Because of the terrorist threat to Western interests, we advise British nationals other than those of Pakistani origin against all but essential travel to Pakistan for which there is a compelling reason and where the traveller has confidence in the security arrangements for the entire visit,'' the British Foreign and Commonwealth Office said in a statement issued by its high commission in New Delhi.

It has advised British nationals against holiday travel to Pakistan and to leave that country unless they had a compelling reason to stay and had confidence in the security arrangements.

It has also advised them against travel to Jammu and Kashmir, apart from visits to Ladakh via Manali.
