Senior party leader Devdas Apte has been put in charge of West Bengal, general secretary Maya Singh of Bihar, Sanjay Paswan of Orissa and former Union minister Devendra Pradhan of Jharkhand.
Party vice president V Ramarao has been given charge of Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka.
BJP secretary Padmanabhacharya, in charge of the Northeastern states, has been replaced by V Satish. Padmanabhacharya has been given charge of Kerala and Lakshadweep.
Former BJP MP from Delhi Om Prakash Kohli has been relieved of the responsibility of four - Delhi, Punjab, Haryana and Rajasthan - of the six states in his charge.
He now retains Himachal Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir.
With elections to the Goa assembly due in a couple of months, Bal Apte has been given charge of the state along with Maharashtra.
K N Lakshmanan has been given charge of Pondicherry and Kailash Joshi of Chhattisgarh.
