Five people, including a documentary filmmaker and a music channel video jockey, were killed when their Maruti car rammed into a speeding truck at Lodhi Road, New Delhi, on Wednesday, police said.

Nishit Sharan (25), a documentary maker, Pooja Mukherji (20), a VJ with Channel [V], Shivali Malhotra (22), who recently passed out from Lady Sriram College, Ashish Puri, a freelance photographer and Pankaj Kakkar (25) were returning from a late night party when their car hit the truck at the Bhishma Pitamah Marg crossing at 0240 hours, they said.

All the five died on the spot.

The police had registered a case of causing death due to rash and negligent driving and were looking for the truck driver.
