Jana confident TDP will vote
against censure motion

Bharatiya Janata Party chief Jana Krishnamurthy on Tuesday exuded confidence that all National Democratic Alliance partners, including the Telugu Desam Party, would vote against the opposition-sponsored censure motion in Lok Sabha.

Krishnamurthy told reporters in Ahmedabad that the NDA allies would not want to embarrass the Vajpayee government by voting with the opposition, especially the Congress, at this juncture.

However, to a question whether he was in touch with Chandrababu Naidu, Krishnamurthy replied: "Why should I meet him?"

He said the BJP was all for a free and frank discussion on Gujarat in the Lok Sabha.

Krishnamurthy also said the party's national executive had not directed Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi to go in for polls "immediately," but had only given him a free hand to take a decision.
