Thackeray lashes out at Naidu over Modi issue

Defending Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi, Shiv Sena chief Bal Thackeray on Sunday lashed out at Chandrababu Naidu, leader of Telugu Desam Party -- an ally of NDA at the Centre -- over his demand for Modi's resignation for 'failing' to check unabated violence in the state.

Lashing out at political leaders demanding Modi's dismissal, Thackeray told a television channel: "If Naidu wants Modi to resign, he should also resign for failing to tackle the Naxalite problem. Even in Bihar, where Congress is supporting the Rabri Devi government, scores of killings are taking place."

Thackeray also claimed that 'during Shiv Sena's four-and-a-half year rule in Maharashtra, the state was riot-free'.
