The runaway Kuwaiti girl Dhalal Falag Al-Azmi, who eloped with her Indian lover and married him in India, has vowed to resist her deportation back to her home country.
She even threatened to commit suicide if she were to be deported by force.
Reacting to reports that Interpol has sought her deportation to Kuwait on health grounds, Al-Azmi told local newsmen at Dalaipalle village in Cuddapah district in Andhra Pradesh on Monday that she was prepared to end her life along with her husband, rather than returning to her country.
The 23-year-old Al Azmi said that she came to India on March 21 on a fake passport to marry her Indian lover Chennur Khader Basha (28), who worked as a car driver for her family.
Pleading against her deportation, she urged the Indian government to give her protection and confer Indian citizenship on her as she married her Indian lover Khader Basha on April 5.
She also requested Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu and Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa to take up her cause and provide a job to her husband.
She thanked Jayalalithaa for extending all-out help and getting her released on bail from Vellore central jail where she was lodged after her arrest for travelling to India on a passport belonging to her Indian maidservant.
