The BJP, which had suffered electoral reverses in the recent assembly polls, gave enough indications of adopting Hindutva during its just concluded national executive at Goa, Sena mouthpiece Saamna said.
Party chief Bal Thackeray, addressing delegates at the Shiv Sena conclave at Shirdi last week, had blasted the BJP's "abandoning of Hindutva" by stating that the electoral setbacks suffered by it were due to the "curse of Hindus".
The editorial noted that the BJP had first espoused the cause of the Hindus and later ignored them.
The daily also claimed that it did not in any way support the communal violence in Gujarat following the attack on the Sabarmati Express at Godhra.
