TDP will continue to support NDA, but will not give up demands

Syed Amin Jafri in Hyderabad

The Telugu Desam Party on Sunday night indicated that it would continue support to the NDA government but will not give up its twin demands - replacement of Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi and about not holding assembly polls in the troubled state in the near future.

Speaking to newspersons after a five-hour meeting of the party's politburo, TDP parliamentary party leader K Yerran Naidu said, "We have not discussed the question of withdrawal of support to the NDA government."

"On Monday, we will raise the demand for Modi's resignation in Parliament," he added.

After discussing the latest political developments, the party politburo decided to reiterate its two demands, Naidu said.
