The commander-in-chief of the US Central Command, General Tommy Franks, on Thursday praised India for its contribution to the fight against terrorism.

"The relationship between... India and our country, remains robust and strong. The support to this campaign against global terrorism by India is noteworthy," he said.

Queried on an update of American military assistance to Pakistan, Franks said: "I can't tell you today exactly how much security assistance has been provided to Pakistan since last September, but I can tell you that the momentum in order to mature the relationship improves every day."
