Rocca, Singh discuss bilateral issues

US Assistant Secretary of State for South Asia Christina Rocca on Wednesday met External Affairs Minister Jaswant Singh and discussed ways to further strengthen Indo-US relations.

During their hour-long interaction, Rocca, who flew in from Islamabad on Tuesday, also briefed Singh on her talks with Pakistan President Pervez Musharraf.

The US official also met Foreign Secretary Chokila Iyer and had extensive parleys with her Indian counterpart Jayant Prasad, Joint Secretary in the external affairs ministry.

On Tuesday, she had held talks with India's special envoy on Afghanistan, S K Lambah, and senior MEA officials.

The US officials is also slated to meet Central Bureau of Investigation Director P C Sharma.
