Christina Rocca arrives on two-day visit

The US Assistant Secretary of State for South Asia, Christina Rocca, arrived in New Delhi on Tuesday on a two-day visit aimed at consolidating Indo-US ties.

Rocca, who flew in from Islamabad, will call on External Affairs Minister Jaswant Singh and meet India's special envoy to Afghanistan S K Lambah.

She will also hold parleys with her Indian counterpart Jayant Prasad, joint secretary in the external affairs ministry.

The US official had to abruptly cut short her visit last month and rush to Islamabad in the wake of the grenade attack on a church that killed five people, including two Americans.
