MCC activists blast railway track in Bihar

The Bihar bandh called by the Maoist Communist Centre on Monday to protest against the Prevention of Terrorism Act turned violent with the ultras blowing up a railway line near Manpur station in Nawada district.

There was no impact of the bandh in the state capital, the sources said.

Official sources said the MCC activists blew up the 100-metre stretch of railway line between Wajirganj and Manpur stations in the Gaya-Kiul section of the Eastern Railway.

Efforts were on to repair the track, they said.

The authorities also recovered several bombs from the tracks near Ismailpur and Gurupa stations in Gaya district.

The Centre has already banned the MCC and Peoples' War Group under POTA.
