Congress rules out change of leadership
in Delhi

The Congress on Thursday ruled out any change of leadership in Delhi following the resignation of six ministers from the Shiela Dixit government.

"There is no question of any change in the leadership in Delhi," party spokesman S Jaipal Reddy told reporters in New Delhi.

The ministers resigned in order to give the chief minister a free hand to revamp the ministry.

Congress sources said a group in the state party unit was mounting pressure on the chief minister to drop two ministers -- Yoganand Shastri and Krishna Tirath - who along with four others had quit.

They said hectic lobbying was on to induct new faces in their place.
