Pakistan's reply to India's
invitation next week

Pakistan on Friday said it would send its reply to Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee's invitation to military ruler General Pervez Musharraf for talks by next week.

''We will not waste time. We will respond sometime next week,'' Pakistan's High Commissioner in India Ashraf Jehangir Qazi said.

Proposals for dates would be mutually exchanged, he said.

Earlier, he told Star News that the involvement of Hurriyat Conference leaders in the dialogue process was necessary as they represented the people of Jammu and Kashmir.

Qazi, however, said there was no scope for Hurriyat leaders' participation in the talks between Vajpayee and Musharraf.

He expressed the hope that General Musharraf, during his visit to Delhi, would have an opportunity to meet Hurriyat leaders.
