RJD MLAs back Laloo, rebels say govt's days numbered

An emergency meeting of the Rashtriya Janata Dal legislature party late on Tuesday night reposed complete faith in party president Laloo Prasad Yadav's leaderhip, but rebels said the Bihar government's days were now numbered.

A special court on Tuesday issued non-bailable arrest warrants against former Bihar chief ministers Laloo Prasad Yadav and Jagannath Mishra, besides 174 others in a fodder scam case.

"I have total support of all RJD MLAs and those belonging to our allies and there is no question of the government's fall even if were to be sent to jail," Laloo told reporters after the meeting.

The RJD chief accused the Central Bureau of Investigation of being party to a plot hatched by his political enemies.

He, however, said: "I am not a fugitive...I will abide by the court's ruling."
