The Delhi police have chargesheeted seven persons, including a Pakistani national, in the Red Fort shootout case in which a two-member Lashkar-e-Tayiba suicide squad had killed two armymen and a civilian on December 22 last.
In two separate chargesheets filed before Metropolitan Magistrate A K Sarpal, the Delhi police have named Rahmana, Yusuf Farooqi, Babar Mohsin Bhagwala, Devender Singh, Shahanshah Alam, Rajiv Kumar Malhotra and Arif alias Ashfaq as accused under various sections of the Indian Penal Code, the Arms Act and the Explosive Substances Act.
The accused have been charged with murder, attempt to murder, criminal conspiracy and waging war against the country.
The chargesheet against Ashfaq was filed on Saturday, while the remaining six were chargesheeted on February 23.
Following prosecution's request to hear the case against all accused mentioned in both the chargesheets together, the court fixed March 31 for the next hearing.
Ashfaq, a Lashkar-e-Tayiba militant and his Indian wife Rehmana were arrested on December 26 last following an encounter in Jamia Nagar in which another militant was killed.
The police had arrested Babar Mohsin, Shahanshah Alam, Devender Singh and Rajiv Kumar Malhotra on January 4 for allegedly helping the militants.
