NLFT rebels kill 5 in Tripura

Banned National Liberation Front of Tripura guerrillas shot dead five people, including two Central Reserve Police Force jawans, and injured eight at Sikaribari in Tripura's Dhalai district on Saturday.

Police said the ultras ambushed a CRPF vehicle and a passenger truck being escorted to Dhalai district headquarters of Ambassa, killing two jawans and three civilians.

The ultras took away a carbine and a self-loading rifle, besides large quantities of ammunition of the slain jawans.

This is the third attack on security forces this month.
