Even as residents of Pratappur village in Siwan district filed a murder case against Superintendent of Police B S Meena and 20 others, Rashtriya Janata Dal MP Mohammad Shahabuddin urged the National Human Rights Commission to probe the police atrocities on March 16.
The member of Parliament faxed a message to NHRC Chairman Justice J S Verma relating how the police targeted innocents when they raided his house last Friday.
"The police raided my residence without any search warrant and mercilessly killed innocent people, including some kids in the age group of 10 to 12 years. Kuddus Khan and Daisy Khan (13), who had come here from Dubai to spend their holiday, had also become victims of the police raid," the message said.
Shahabuddin said he had submitted the passports of the two children to the government for verification.
Meanwhile, residents of Pratappur filed a criminal case against B S Meena and others in the court of the chief judicial magistrate.
Those named in the complaint include the outgoing SP, Sub-divisional Police Officer Sanjeev Kumar, probationer DSP Ashwini Kumar among a host of policemen.

PTI adds: In a major swoop, police have arrested seven persons, including Sultan Mian, known to be a close associate Shahabuddin, and Zaved Siddiqui, son of a retired DIG of police from Patna, police said.
Patna Superintendent of Police O N Bhaskar said a police revolver, two country-made pistols, three cellular phones and a Maruti van were also recovered following the arrests on Wednesday.
Bhaskar said the arrested persons had confessed their involvement in several cases of murder, dacoity, kidnappings and bomb explosions.
